- Whale Watching - 

The Romonza, a spacious 16m ketch, was awarded one of the fifteen boat based whale watching licenses in South Africa to observe the greatest mammal show on earth up close from June to November. It is licensed to carry 52 persons.

Here is your chance to watch the gentle giants from a certified boat operator (with a 16m ketch) who will give you three hours of whale watching and guarantee whale sightings with a registered tour guide offering educational information. It also includes a light lunch on the boat.

The most general whales to be seen are the Southern Right Whale who was nearly extinct when South Africa started protecting them in 1932. During the months of July – December literally hundreds of them flock to the Southern African coastline for the calfing season. From time to time also the Killer Whales and other types of whales are sighted, while the chances of seeing a Great White shark, hundreds of dolphins and seals are also excellent.
